SV Aracan

Built in 1854, Sailing Vessel Aracan collided with the SS American in 1874, she was a 3 masted fully rigged sailing ship on her way to Hong Kong with a general cargo. She sank 15miles SW of Portland Bill. Today bottles, firebricks, coils of cable, hoops from barrels with the wood gone, copper sheeting, some wood structure remains with numerous copper nails visible at the wreck site.
